An Ode to Frogger

Once upon a time there was a little froggy who wanted to cross the street. He looked left. He looked right. He looked up. He looked down. He hopped off the curb and ZOOM! he hopped right back onto the curb. A humongous semi barreled down right past the little froggy.

Again, the little froggy looked left. He looked right. He looked up. He looked down. He looked left again. Nothing. He hopped off the curb. Still good. He took another hop. Looked left and hopped back once as a White BMW drove by. He looked left again and hopped three times forward. He looked left. He looked right. A siren was heard and the ambulance came sreaming down the street right at the little froggy. He hopped forward four times rather quickly and just missed the wheels of the emergency vehicle.

The little froggy was feeling pretty good about his skills and then a little black Smartcar came rolling down the street to the right. The little froggy just barely made it, but he did. He hopped to the left three hops and then forward again three hops. He could see the other curb in sight. It was only about six more hops away. But a semi truck, and a Corvette were coming at him on the right. What to do?

He did the only thing he could do. He hopped backwards three hops. Both vehicles passed by and the coast seemed clear. He hopped five hops forward and found that all was safe for the last four hops. The little froggy hopped two hops and a ten-speed came cycling down near the curb. He paused to let the bike pass him by. He then took two more hops and he was home free. Unfortunately, when he turned around he noticed one major problem! He had taken off without his trusty sidekick: the little turtle!

Doesn't that take you back to playing Frogger?

Inspiration comes from the craziest things! I haven't played Frogger in years, but...it just seemed interesting to write that. Well, here's to a weekend that doesn't have cars coming at you in all directions. Don't forget to look both ways before you cross the street! :o) Who else can write a story from a beloved old video game? Leave me a comment if you've written one. I'd love to read it!
